Mike, I am confussed about what cards you have installed in what and what cables you are using. The generic card is connected to what? It sounds like a cable problem. It doesn't look like you have an IRQ conflict between the two network cards, but you may have one between one of the network cards and somthing else. Do you have PCI IRQ steering enabled? Control Panel, System, Device Manager, System Devices, PCI Bus, IRQ Steering; and CMOS Setup: PnP OS enabled? Try the 3-Com card in the ICS host. Larry
