Doug, you do not have to fdisk the drive in most cases. However, Windows will do a lot of "thrashing" around when if finds a new motherboard and will install new drivers for the chipset, etc. Windows will probably go through several reboots before settling out. Sometimes there will be problems and Windows will get stuck. Come back if that happens. You will want to be sure to install the latest drivers for the board. I would suggest visiting the Asus' web site and reading up on what drivers are appropriate for your version of Windows. Larry
