I ma trying to replace my busted Creative CD-ROM drive but the new drive is not recognized by the system, in fact, when connected the system doesn't even boot up. Environment: P120 processor running win98 sb16 sound card What I did: connected the new drive to the secondary ide as master enabled the 2nd ide in cmos checked the device manager and the 2nd ide is OK with no conflicts when I boot with the win98 boot diskette, the drive is recognized but can't boot without it

any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks.
