Taleya, It's beyond me why any shop would replace a motherboard when the computer has a bad sound card. Over the last couple of years, I have built and upgraded many computers with Epox MVP3 motherboards (MPV3C, 58MVP3C-M, 51MVP3E-M, MVP3G-M, & MVP3G2) and with all kinds of sound cards, except yours, and have never seen this problem or had any problem related to a sound card. I have not used MVP4 which have the sound function built into the chipset/motherboard (and don't intend to). Larry
