3-D Mark 2001 has been released!
deerslayer Mar-14-01 03:17 PM
Came out Tuesday evening. Can download it @ http://www.download.com
http://www.madonion.com has been hammered with hits and presently is almost impossible to visit. Trying to access the forum it appears they are upgrading there servers due to the traffic.
Interestingly enough, it seems the ATI radeons are outperforming the Ultra's on some of the early tests. The default test is 1024x768 32bit. As the Radeon really shines in 32 bit this does not suprise me. Some of the first testers said it will bring a top gun system to it's knees.
I found it @ download.com around 8pm and they were really busy too. 38 mb file was coming in @ 3.5k sec. Had to get to bed,so I had to sleep with the computer on. (those fans are loud!)
Will have a fanbus hooked up this weekend hopefully. Wanted to do it a few weeks ago but time is hard to come by.
Can't wait to get out of work and do some benchmarks!!!!

Well All I can say is WOW! The demo alone is some great eye candy. My best score was 3018. I was seeing T-bird scores before the site went down as high as 3500, with Radeon. This benchmark is brutal. There is one test that as far as I know can't even be ran by the cards on the market right now. I assume the G-force 3 will. I think I will pass on that, dont need to pay $600 to see a few minute benchmark. The Radeon 2 coming out this year is a different story. If it meets expectations like the one I have it should be a great card.
