Cannot Install Windows 2000
freedomland May-31-02 06:38 PM
I have a problem with installing windows 2000 from my cd. I am using windows ME. I first start by putting in the cd, and then the autoplay comes up and asks me if I want to upgrade, I click no. Then I click on install windows 2000 from the menu. After a while, a popup tells me that it cannot detect what version of windows I'm using and have to exit the setup. I don't know why. I don't want to upgrade it, but I want to install it separately (which is a feature for windows 2000) but it doesn't work. Can you tell me what to do to get it right?

Try to make a Dual Boot drive first.
The first boot section will be the Windows ME, the second the Windows 2000
The second drive (Or partition) can then be used to install Windows 2000.
