Installing New Fonts
nbc May-24-01 09:20 AM
I can't install new fonts!!!

When i go to the fonts folder in the CP, and select File, I should have an option there to install new fonts. Unfortunately I do not. I am running W98SE. This is a right pain in the proverbial, as the company I work for has a load of custom fonts that all corporate documents need to be written in.

Can anyone suggest anything for me?

Windows 98? Start, Settings, Control Panel, Fonts, File menu, click Fonts to place a check mark. Larry

Again, what version of Windows do you have installed? Anyway, insert the Windows CD, go to \tools\reskit\powertoy on the CD, right-click TweakUI.inf, and choose Install. After installing Start, Settings, Control Panel, double-click the Tweak UI icon, Repair tab, click the down-arrow, choose font folder from the list, and click Repair Now. If you canít find TweakUI, it can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/Windows95/downloads/contents/WUToys/W95PwrToysSet/Default.asp. Larry

Thnaks for your email Larry. Like i said in the first message, i am running win 98 Second Edition. TweakUI doesn't come with the SE CD, nor could i find it on the MS website for download. After I re-installed windows the problem was sorted.

Cheers for your help

Glad the problem is solved. I post this for future readers of this thread. I don't have an SE CD at present, but it is on my 98 and Me CD's and the link in my previous post worked when I tried it a minute ago. Larry
