SCSI cdrom help plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
asdf May-23-02 07:17 PM
hi, system is atx style, pIII 450mgz, asus p3v4x motherboard, pioneer scsi cd-rom, ibm scsi hard drive, and diamond fireport 40 pci scsi controller card. please let me know if you need more info about the system.

i am trying to load windows 98se off of the win98 boot disk. my problem is that the scsi cd-rom drive isn't getting recognized. i already put the drivers on the boot disk by placing the asp driver file into the config.sys file, but now i get the error message that i need an "aspi manager device". does that mean i need to load the drivers for the diamond fireport card first?

i was thinking about trying to load the operating system with an ide cdrom and then installing the scsi drives later, any thoughts on that?

You could load it using an ide cdrom and then just install the SCSI cdrom later. Try looking around at www.bootdisk.com , I am sure you will find what you need.

Try www.bootdisk.com/readme.htm#scsi
