LAST EDITED ON Dec-14-01 AT 03:31 AM (GMT)

win 98se,everything else seams ok. usually locks up when on net. has locked up randomly at no certain time-put in date, time, and what you were doing when it locked up or crashed.

12/8/01 - 2:53 p.m.-- came in to play solitair but was locked up before hand
12/11/01- 1:38 a.m. -- typing in chat room & locked up
12/11/01- 12:13 p.m.-- playing Bejeweled (desktop) & locked up had almost 17,000 points!!
12/11/01- 12:16 p.m.--was on-line Bejeweled had just checked for updates. Was closing ok window & locked up again
12/12/01- 12:11 a.m.--was playing Bejeweled (desktop) & locked up 5,000 points!
( Also it re-arranged the desktop when it re-booted) .no irq conflicts

How much ram, how big hard drive & free space? What sound board ya using, sblive value? Check the memory sharing in deviceman. If not an irq gotta be mem, dma, ahhhhh do ya got those windoz temp files removed? C:\windows\temp checkum out & delete um.

I would try this: in the bios, diable on board sound; save/exit. when windozs comes up ya mite have ta disable puters sound. now see if it still locks up. If not, unintall what on board sound ya have in deviceman, reboot, go to bios, enable sound, follow 'found new hardware' menu to reenstall sound. Even if dm sees no conflicts there still is a crossup of sorts..
