hp 4200c scanner
oldwood Feb-08-02 06:22 PM
Like other posts I am having trouble with this scanner. I can not find the hpsjvxd.exe or hpsjvxd.vxd files. You said these files were needed to operate scanner. I used the scanner one afternoon and it work find but when I came back later he didn't work. I did not shut off computer in between times I tried to use scanner. Why would it work one time & not another? What would cause the files to be deleted? I have the scanner connected with USB port. Getting very frustrated, tried rebooting & other ideas but nothing has worked. Tnank you

They are on the Window's CD. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q129605 might help. Larry

I installed the files. I have a HP 812c printer on USB port, scanner is also USB port. I used the adobe software that came with scanner. When I went to print out file computer froze. Now when I print one file (from excel) I am unable to print another file. The computer does not reconize the printer. After reboot the computer says I have a file in print que. Then I can still only print 1 file. Also my scanner does not work even though I have the hpsjvxd files. Seems to be problem with printer & scanner and associated drivers. Any ideas

http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/cposupport/get_doc.pl?SNI=hpdeskjet620187&LC=printers&Tfile=bpd07270 might be useful. I would run the computer off the printer port. It should be just is fast, maybe faster (http://duxcw.com/digest/Reviews/Printers/hp895-3.htm). I had a problem with the Adobe ATM fonts and removed them. Actually, I’ve had problems with Adobe ATM fonts since day one (before Windows 95). Larry

I have separate USB ports connected to computer for the scanner & printer. Tried switching to parallel port for printer But kept getting "no Paper" error on printer. Also now I cannot shutdown computer using shutdown comand.

Those separate USB ports may be on the same controller and two devices may be sucking too much power out them. Believe it or not, a “no Paper” error is often caused by a defective printer cable, or one that is not properly screwed-down. Larry
