HP Deskjet 895Cse

Hi, I have had this printer a little over two years now. I just recently tried using it for printing out pictures and realized it was only printing out in purple colors. I bought a new color cartridge and had the same results. Like it was stuck in Grayscale mode. I called HP, payed the 25 bucks and all they could tell me was it was either the power module (I had been using a surge protector) and they said half the time the power module was defective, or it was the printer hardware failing somewhere. I am extremely frustrated at this point. It was a three hundred dollar printer, which I never used other than printing out in black text, and now I can't get it to print out in color. A new power module is 52 bucks through HP, and a service call is 100 bucks minimum. I found a new 895Cse online for 129 dollars, if I wanted to go that route. Anyone have any suggestions or similar experiences? Thanks.

I found SAMS Wholesale club in Independence MO selling HP Deskjet 895Csi for $99.99. The Csi is the Professional version and comse with HP Printing Essentials for Business.

The power module is probably the same one used by a number of HP deskjets including the 712C. You might be able to borrow one from a friend to test out.
