USB Broadband Router
Last updated: 1/21/02

Q.  Is there a combination broadband router/Ethernet switch that supports USB cable or DSL MODEMS?

A.  Yes.  The Dratek Vigor2200USB USB Router Supports USB MODEMs and has four Ethernet interfaces.  It is available from Best Systems.  Please do not consider this information as an endorsement of this product or the vendor as I have not seen on of these routers.  Comments from one of our readers are at http://duxcw.com/dcforum/DCForumID2/1536.html.

Update:  Please do not purchase the router until you check with Dratek to see if it is compatible with your MODEM and the protocol used by your service provider.  The last I heard (from a post in or Forums) it only supports two USB particular MODEMs so far.
