I need much more info about your computer and operating system. This is the wrong forum, but I'll leave the thread here for now. Larry

Are you able to identify the motherboard make and model? See http://duxcw.com/digest/Fromshop/mb/det.htm. If you have a PCI display adapter, try plugging it into the furthest right PCI slot. If you have an AGP display adapter, move any expansion board in the PCI slot next to the AGP slot (if there is an AGP slot) to another slot. Try both enabling and disabling Assign (or reserve) Interrupt (or IRQ) to the Display Adapter, or something like that, in the CMOS Setup. Larry

The motherboard and chipset are old and no longer supported. As a long shot you may want to try downloading and installing the 440LX chipset software: http://developer.intel.com/design/software/drivers/platform/inf.htm. Larry
