Amd Athlon temperature
Alan Chan Jun-17-01 04:00 PM
I have recently installed an Amd Athlon 1.0 gigahertz processor on a Gigabyte Amd K7 series motherboard. The temperature reads at 56 C is the normal or am I frying my processor?

It's not frying, but it is too hot. See http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/cpu/socka/6.html for examples. Larry

if that is idle temps, load temps will be pushing 70C. That is dangerous. Follow Larry's guide and that should fix you up.
