msconfig

W98 SE,ECS K7S5A Mobo, Athlon XP 1700+, AMI BIOS, 40GB ATA100 HD,
CD-ROM, CD-RW. When in System Configuration Utility/Startup tab, I noticed there are two identical files with a "check" in both boxes. The files are,
Load Power Profile Rundll32.exe powprof.dll, load current pwr scheme.
What are they? Do I need to have both of them, or is only one sufficient? I would like to uncheck one, or both of them if possible.
Any advice greatly appreciated, thankyou.

I had both of those keys disabled in WinME cause I had power savings off.

The LoadPowerProfile is loaded twice, once before loggin-in and once after. The first one loads default machine preferences. The second one is for indivual user preferences. Leave both of them.

Thanks Larry for the reply. I'll probe around the MS Support site, but I think I may just leave those particular files alone.
