How to delete windows?
LyH Jan-31-02 06:29 PM
Right now I have two operating systems on my computer- windows 2000 and windows XP. When I installed XP, something happened to 2000 which made it not work anymore. How can I delete windows 2000 if I cannot start up with it? I read that I should make a windows 98 startup disk but I don't have a 98 CD. A friend said I should format my computer, therefore deleting everything. Then just install XP again. Should I do that? If so, how can I do that?

I would do it as your friend suggested. You can delete the partition with 2000 with from the win XP setup. That will also delete any data on the partition that you may want to save. I could probably recover that data by putting the drive on another computer running XP or 2000. You may be able to recover the data by trying to install XP, if it is an upgrade, on the 2000 partition.
