error message when i click on my computer icon

this is the error message when i click on my computer icon

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 0177:bff87eb5.

See if renaming your password list files fixes it. The are located in c:\windows\ and end with .pwl Those files store all of the passwords (for various users) Windows has remembered for your internet connection, etc. If you rename those files and do not restore them, you will have to reenter the info. If it doesn’t fix the problem, delete any new .pwl files and rename the previous ones back so they end in *.pwl. I would like to know if this worked. Larry

Restore the files
kernel32.dll &
explorer.exe
from win98 setup by the foll. command

c:\win98_setup> extract /a base4.cab kernel32.dll
c:\win98_setup> extract /a base4.cab explorer.exe

now move these files to your windows folder
