How to prevent Windows ME from over-writting the changes I make in config.sys ?
terenceybw Oct-06-01 05:16 PM
I have one laptop here and I just try to edit the config.sys inside the Windows ME. After done all the editing, I saved it and checked the "Read-only" check box inside the file properties, but everytime i restart my windows, the Windows ME just automatic restore back the default setting (which is blank). Any solution? Thanks

Windows Me does not use config.sys (or autoexec.bat). See mskb 269524, Overview of Real Mode Removal from Windows Millennium Edition, at http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q269/5/24.ASP. Larry
