Windows ME exception errors and freezing
Winnskier Aug-15-01 01:10 AM
I'm using a computer that I just built with windows Me installed. Everything was working fine and then I got an exception error and had to reboot. Ever since then I keep getting little popups saying that .dll files are causing conflicts and I can't get into windows or internet explorer without the computer freezing up. And also those errors keep popping up sometimes in windows sometimes a blue screen for just about everything. I have to restart the computer almost as soon as I turn it on and it is really getting annoying. If you have any advice could you please post a reply? Thanks alot.

What's in the computer? The more detail you provide the better. Please start with the make model of the motherboard and the CPU. It is more than likely a hardware problem. Larry

At first I thought I had bad memory, but I did some experimenting and I found that just about every directory in windows was corrupt in some way or another and I couldn't fix them through scandisk so I just reformatted the drive. It took a little while to reinstall everything but it works. So problem solved. Thanks for your help.

As a precaution, I would run a virus scan and scandisk with a surface scan. Larry
