Right click "MY COMPUTER" icon on the desk top and click onto properties. In here you will see the version of Windows that is installed. On my machine it states "Win98 sec", I do know that not all PC's will show "2nd edition" so you might need to refer to the build number under the version, my machine reads like this:
Windows 98
Second Edition.
4.10.2222a <<<<you will be able to look up this number at www.microsoft.com

When I do this, "properties" is not lit up so I cannot click on it. When I go to the DOS prompt and type "ver" I don't get a build number or an edition remark, only "4.10". Any further suggestions?

Double click My Computer, Help, About or Start, Settings, Control Panel, and double-click System. Larry
