DVD-ROM skips
thescott96 Feb-01-02 02:44 AM
I have a Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-M1212, and when i play regular DVD's (not doublesided DVD's) it works fine, but when i play the doublesided kind, where one side is for widescreen and the other is for standard, it skips or goes to blue screen after long pauses. But if i skip to the end of the movie, it seems to work fine. Could somebody help, i'm fresh out of ideas. -thescott

Have you got DMA enabled on your DVD Drive?
Check the properties of the drive in device manager.

you know, it wasn't, but i think i fixed it prior to your reply, thanks though. I just got another and connected the dvd directly to its own ide port on the motherboard, instead of going through the hard drive. My friend read somewhere that that worked better for dvd's.

thanks,
