I want to get rid of a 5 1/4 floppy drive
gazou Aug-02-01 12:45 PM
I have an old PC with two floppy drives. A:\ is a 5 1/4 and B:\ is 3 1/2. I tried to change the CMOS so that the 3 1/2 would be A: but it doesn't work. I also tried to disconnect the 5 1/4 and leave the 3 1/2 alone but still nothing.
Any suggestion???
Thanks!

The 3 floppy drive might be a 720 Kbyte instead of a 1.44 Mbyte drive. Plug the very end of the floppy cable into the 3 drive, the end with the twist. You may need to get a new cable if there is no 3 1/2 connector at the end, just past the twist. Larry

We won't know that until you try it. It should. Larry
