The Hot Rod 100 Pro--Ultra DMA IDE/RAID Controller Card.
Tinman Mar-28-01 11:03 AM
I'm running the Hot Rod ATA 100 controller card with an Athlon 750Mhz processor, and I have not been completely successful when trying to boot to the card. With my old drive, the ABIT bios for the card comes up and reads my drives, but then there is a pause for about 5-6 minutes, before the boot sequence continues. After that it works fine, but I can't figure out how to boot without the delay. I have a brand new 40 GB WD400 HD now and the sofware for the drive won't install because it hangs when trying to read the drive. I've tried, boot to SCSI, selecting NONE for the Mainboard IDEs, but nothing works. I now have both set at cable select per the manual, but I may try Master settings again. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

Try disabling the motherboard IDE controllers in the CMOS Setup, which is not the same as setting the drives to none. It should free-up the interrupts and ports assigned to those controllers. Larry
