Motherboard Swap Causes Video Problems
Khujirt Jan-11-02 11:33 PM
I have a pc w/ Win 98, 2K Pro, and XP Pro installed. I recently swapped my motherboard and video card (to ATI Rage IIC). Now, Win 98 works no problem, 2K and XP get garbled screens every time I open them in normal mode. XP works ok in safe mode. 2K does not work in safe mode. As the screen is so garbled, I am not sure what I can do in Win 2K. XP Safe mode doesn't seem to allow me to access any drivers. Any advice?

Install the old video card, install the stock VGA Windows driver, install the new adapter, and install the drivers for the new adapter appropriate for the operating system in question. Larry
