Built in sound on my MB doesn't work

i have a FIC AZ31 w/ Atholon 1.2 GHz CPU and i have got all the bugs out of it thanx to mostly IBYARD or is it LBYARD well which ever it is he was a heck of alot of help when putting my pc together but the real problem is my sound doesnt work on my mother board and i have no clue why. it displays a no audio device is connnected when i try to play sound but i didnt have an audio card to cdrom cable hooked up when i put my pc together but now i do so if anyone has any help they can give me i would like it alot

lbyard = Larry Byard... The sound drivers have to be installed before it will work...What kind of sound are you trying to play? There should be an audio cable connecting the CD-ROM to the motherboard if you are trying to play music CD's. Be sure the speakers are not muted and the volume is turned up to an appropriate level, the speakers have to plugged-in to the computer and power (or batteries have to be installed), and turned-on, if there is a switch, with any volume control turned-up. my sound card is built in to the motherboard and didnt come with any drivers. sorry LBYARD

You still need drivers. They should be on the CD that came with the motherboard. Larry
