How do I find out what chipset is on my MB

the manual came with MB dont tell me the chipset on the MB is there any way to figure out...

The computer might tell you at the top of the screen when you first turn it on. Otherwise, look at the motherboard. If it is a recent motherboard (last three years or so) there should be one or two large, square chips besides the CPU. Most of them have two: Northbridge and Southbridge chips. Older boards may have more than two. What is stamped on the chips? There are other ways of determining itů Larry
