The only way that I can see that the two events are related is if CPU fan became unplugged—go knocked loose--while installing the network adapter. The two events may not be related. The CPU might not be fried. Take the computer down to a minimum bootable configuration and see if it will boot. A minimum bootable configuration for most motherboards is: Motherboard, CPU, heatsink-fan, memory, video card, power to the motherboard, Power-on switch, speaker connected (so you can hear beep codes), monitor, keyboard (actually it will boot without a keyboard), and nothing else--no drives, no nothing. If that doesn’t bring it to life, be sure the display adapter is properly seated. Push down on the front of it and look along the AGP slot. Pull and reinstall the memory. If that doesn’t do it, check the third answer at http://duxcw.com/faq/mb/mb.htm for additional ideas. Larry

I tried the minimum bootable configuration, but that didn't work, i tried resetting the bios, that didn't work. I ended up putting the pc back together in its original state and letting the warranty take of the rest!
