MS Backup
Schneck Aug-07-02 05:29 AM
Hi,

I don't find a tutorial regarding MS-Backup (Win98)...
I saved a complete HD over 4 DATs. Strange, but MS-Backup
wants a 5th DAT from me at restoring, but I only used 4.
Is it possible in any way to restore just a part of the saved
data (in my case DATs 1-4)?

Thanks in advance,

Stefan

Are you doing this from the DOS prompt or Windows? Larry

I use the Windows-Tool "Backup", not the DOS-based.

I know what MS backup is. I was talking about the restore function which can be done from the DOS prompt or from Windows. Larry

Sorry, i misunderstood you. I use the windows-restore function, and I didn't know that there is a possibility to restore data in DOS Mode. Are the more options than in the windows restore function?

Regard,
Stefan

The procedure is at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q187526.
Copy and past the entire link. I have never tried it and don't know if it will help. I believe I have seen this problem before, but it was long time ago, if I did. I don't believe I was able to solve the problem. You might be able to build a catalog by clicking the refresh button in restore in Windows, but I doubt it. Larry
