Auto complete...
davidrl38 Mar-01-02 02:56 PM
I recently fdisk'd, formatted, and reinstalled completely. After a few web pages IE usually asks if you would like to turn on the Auto Complete feature so that when you start typing it will complete it for you if it has been entered before. Well this time it never asked?? Also, when I boot up (Win2k Pro) it goes right into the user name and password dialog box and bypasses the Ctrl-Alt-Delete screen??? isn't this potentially dangerous? Any Idea how to turn these two things back on?

Thanks in Advance!

The first part of your question, autocomplete, is answered for you in IE help:

To adjust AutoComplete settings

You can configure AutoComplete to save and suggest only the information you want. You can choose whether to use AutoComplete for Web addresses, forms, and passwords, or not use it all. You can also clear the history for any of these.

In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Content tab.
Under Personal information, click AutoComplete.
Select the check boxes for the AutoComplete options you want to use.

I'm sorry I cannot help you with your other problem.

Thank you both!! Boy those were pretty simple, sorry about that. I guess I haven't looked around in those areas too much.

Have a great weekend,

David
