2 pc network problem
ssjyoda Jun-18-01 03:22 AM
Here is the problem, i have had a gateway running win98 for a while now and i just bought a new pc, but my new one didnt have an os. So i took the win 98 software from my gateway and put it on my new pc.
I have already installed network cards on both my pcs now, and i have used a cable modem through both of them so i know the cards work.
I just bought a hub so i can connect these 2 pcs and my cable modem. I have all the wiring done but the 2nd pc wont connect to the network. The first pc is running fine, it can get to teh cable modem through the hub, but teh 2nd pc wont hook up.
When i open up the network neighborhood for the 2nd pc, it shows only the 2nd pc.
What can be wrong here, someone help me please

See http://duxcw.com/faq/ics/waysshare.htm. Take the hub back and get a router/switch like http://duxcw.com/digest/Reviews/Network/smc/smc7004br/smc7004br.htm. Larry
