power cylce

I have a quick question. I have a peer-to-peer network.(2 computers) Crossover cable. Everything is working great. My question is when I power one computer off and then back on it doesn't show up in the network. Is this normal. IF I power both computers off and then sequentially power them on everything is fine. Is this how I have to always do it? No problem if it is. I was just wondering if this is the norm for a crossover cabled network.
Thanks
Eric

Powering-off a computer without shutting it down can muck-up the network Browse List maintained by the computer which is the network Browse Master. It might take up 15 minutes for a computer to obtain an updated Browse List. If you have Windows 98 SE of older, you can read about this in the Windows Resource Kit documentation (http://duxcw.com/faq/network/helpdoc.htm). You can control which computer(s) is/are Browse Masters in the Properties (not the command button) of Printer and File sharing for Microsoft networks in Start, Settings, Control Panel, Network. Mapping drives and disabling Quick logon may fix the problem (see http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/network/net2pc/map.htm). Larry
