Cannot connect to internet on the client PC

I've tried ICS and Sygate; both separate and together.
My Server:
TCP/IP (Shared) -> Realtek RTL8139(A) PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter
=IP Address
-Obtain an IP address automatically
-Detect connection to network media
=WINS Configuration
-Use DHCP for WINS Resolution
=Gateway
-None installed
=DNS Configuration
-Disabled
=Bidings
--Client for Microsoft Networks
--File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks

TCP/IP (Home) -> SMC EZ Card 10/100 (SMC1211TX)
=IP Address
-Specify an IP address
--IP Adresss: 192.168.0.1
--Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
-Detect connection to network media
=WINS Configuration
-Disable WINS Resolution
=Gateway
-None installed
=DNS Configuration
-Disabled
=Bidings
--Client for Microsoft Networks
--File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks

My client:
TCP/IP -> Linksys Lnepci II Ethernet Adapter
=IP Address
-Obtain an IP address automatically
-Detect connection to network media
=WINS Configuration
-Use DHCP for WINS Resolution
=Gateway
-None installed
=DNS Configuration
-Disabled
=Bidings
--Client for Microsoft Networks
--File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks

I'm running WinME on both. I am able to share files via the IPX/SPX protocol between the two computers, so the hardware's working fine. I am able to ping IP addresses from the client, buy my browser is not able to bring up anything. It gives me a DNS error. I tried http://duxcw.com/faq/network/winsock.htm.
I've also reinstalled WinME fresh on both systems and I even tried Windows 2000 on my server with no luck.
Any help is appreciated and if you need more info let me know.
-David

See http://duxcw.com/dcforum/DCForumID2/584.html. Come back if that doesn't help. Larry

Still no luck. Neither 216.92.56.121 nor duxcw.com will work on my browser. Although I can still ping both from the DOS prompt. I thought it could be IE 5.5, but I cannot get Outlook to reach my mail server either. SyGate and ICS both say the computers are connected. Anything else I can try?

Update: (After a re-installation of TCP/IP and reboot) I started up IE and when it tried to load my homepage it started to load it and then it stopped and the DNS error page appears. It got as far as some text and image placeholders. Attempting to reload the page just gave me DNS errors, as did attempting any other site. Any thoughts?

Start, Settings, Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections, LAN Settings, and uncheck all boxes. ICS sometimes erroneously checks the Use proxy server box. Larry
