Networked PCs not being seen
Shady_Mike Apr-08-02 07:32 PM
I have 8 PCs, all win98 or win98se. Every PC in
the network can be seen and share files and/or printers by at least one other PC in the network. No PC can see all the others and no PC can be seen by all the others but every PC can be seen by at least one other.

That would mean the hub and nics are all ok. What else could be wrong? NetBeui, IPX/SPX, TCP/IP are all added.

Thanks, would love it if someone could point me in the right direction.

Get Rid of IPX/SPX, what kind of hub are you running and how many ports does it have? Do you have them configured as a workgroup. and do you have a dhcp server.

The hub is a Synoptice Lattis Link 2800A.

Why should I get rid of IPX/SPX. It seems to install automatically when I installed the NICs. The ones who can see all have it installed. Does it just confuse the issue?

Is this a hub or a switch? If it is a switch make sure
that you have no Vlans running or make sure that the computers
are on the same Vlan.
