How do you connect a USB modem to a Switch on one computer?

First of all, I have Ameritech ADSL. I have an Alcatel USB modem with a USB port that connects to the computer and a phone jack port that connects to my phone line. I also have a Linksys Switch that has an Uplink Ethernet port to plug into the modem and 5 Ethernet ports for networking. I hope I don't have to buy a new switch with USB modem support!

Thank you in advance!!!
Aidan

Will this work guys?

Plug USB modem into computer USB port and plug USB modem's phone jack into my phone line. Then plug in Linksys switch into my ethernet NIC card and network other computers into the switch?

It should, but you will need Internet Connection Sharing software. The best possible solution is to contact your service provider and request that they replace the MODEM with one with an Ethernet interface and use a router to share it. Many of them will do that. See http://duxcw.com/faq/ics/waysshare.htm for details. Larry
