Hi, I have a box running win98SE with a DSL connection using a Linksys LNE100tx ethernet adapter w/Alcatel DSL external modem. I would like to hook it up to my other 2 pcs, I have a Dlink 530tx NIC installed into the box. My other 2 pcs also have Dlink530tx NICs, and I have used win98ICS with them. Now I want the box with the DSL to be the host ICS PC. How will this work?and is there any trick or tip to it??? I am so afraid to install ICS, I don't want to screw things up. Oh, also I have been reading about Sygate. Is it just better than ICS?? Would it be easier to use?
The primary use of the 3pc network would be for home use, gaming, surfing downloading mp3 and stuff like that. Please someone advise me and point me to some good links for helping me with this setup thanks....

SyGate is the better product and it is usually easier to install. Good links would be our review of SyGate (http://duxcw.com/digest/Reviews/Network/sygate/sygate.htm) and How to Share a Cable MODEM with Windows 98 Second Edition (http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/network/win98se_cab/intro.htm). The procedures are similar to those used for DSL. Be sure to completely uninstall ICS if you have it running (Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup…). Now be brave… Larry
