Upgrading a network from BNC cables to Hubs.
M Bosworth Feb-02-02 05:44 PM
I have a network of 10 PC's on a peer-to-peer network using BNC. Installing a couple of switches and the new cat5 cables is fine for the Win98 PC's. The WIN ME PC only works with its 100MB lan card, the 10MB combo card doesn't work.
The 2 Win 95 and the sole WIN 3.1 don't work either, they do not light the LED on the switch. These 3 ethernet cards are all NEC 2000 compatibles, are they too old?
Any suggestions? I think that I've checked out all the options I can within WIN 95.

I believe that is about the third or fourth time this question has been asked in this forum so it is now an FAQ: http://duxcw.com/faq/network/combonic.htm. Larry
