Minimum Cat 5x cable length?
hatchet Oct-22-01 07:52 AM
I know the maximum cable length of Cat5x from node to hub is 328 feet (100 meters) but what I would like to know is what is the MINIMUM cable length allowed for a patch cable (solid wire). I have been told that you can buy them as short as 6 inches but I seem to recall that the minimum is more like 2 to 3 feet.

I would also appreciate a reference and few guesses.

Thanks
