Tokenring utp cable
chenj21 Aug-14-01 02:54 AM
Dear Sir,

You will be very appreciated if you can answer me the folloing question.
Can EIA568B and EIA568A both support 10/100BaseTX ethernet and tokenring network?
AS ethernet use pin 1,2,3 and 6 of a RJ45 connector to transmit. How about tokenring networkd?

Regards.

I have not worked on Token ring networks in many years… The color codes should work Ok, but the Token Ring uses different pins (3,4,5,6) and cable with an impedance of 150 ohms versus 100 ohms. Also, the token ring always crosses-over. See http://www.cabletron.com/support/techtips/tk0382-9.html
