Wake On Lan
nobbyG Jun-29-01 05:00 PM
Great site, helped me a lot to set up my simple two computer network which works fine!, "how to's" are really good. BUT now the n/w is working I want to set up WOL so that my (the host) computer doesn't have to be left on all the time and my sons can access the internet whenever they want to (the reason and idea of the network in the first place). The host m/b and NIC both support WOL. Is there anywhere on the web that provides detailed "how to" instructions for setting up WOL?, e.g. m/b power settings (sleep/standby modes?), software requirements and availability? etc. I've searched but can't find anything. Any and all help will be appreciated.
Thanks, nobbyG.

I haven't played with it. http://gsd.di.uminho.pt/jpo/software/wakeonlan/mini-howto/ should get you started. Larry
