Poor Quality Video
leavede Sep-26-00 11:47 AM
The clouds in my screen background look like multi layers of "dots". This goes the same for any programs with "fog" or similar textures. I have a diamond Stealth 3 S540 Extreme video card and a motherboard with MVP-3 chipset. Had this same problem with a Viper 770 card. Any ideas for fix? thanks.

No dotted clouds/fog here and I am using an MVP3/V770 combination. Questions... What are your Windows display adapter settings, what monitor do you have and what is its dot pitch, what wallpaper are you referring to, what version of Windows do you have installed, and what version of DirectX are you running? Settings currently at 800 x 600, I've tried other settings but same result. Monitor is a Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 71, I think the dot pitch is .25
The wallpaper is "clouds". OS is Win98,DirectX7

How many colors? If it's 256 or lower, that is the problem. Larry

Well, I can't do much more without seeing the monitor. It may need adjustment (pin cusion). Or, it may not be a real problem after all, especially if everything else looks OK. You could see what another monitor looks like on that computer or what this monitor looks like on another computer with the same wall paper. Larry
