I am shopping for a laptop, other than resolution what are the advanatages of sxga over xga. Is it worth the extra hundred or so dollars?

SXGA 1280 x 1024 resolution.
XGA 1024 x 768
SVGA 800 x 600
VGA 640 x 480

In my opinion, no. Opinions may vary, especially those of people who sell laptops. Some advise from someone who has been running a computer shop since 1987: buy a name brand laptop, from a company that likely isn't going out of business in the next five years and one where you can get service and parts. Go and look at a laptop and put you hands on it for a while before buying it. Now that I've saved you $100 and probably some grief, the tip jar is to the right. Larry

Oh, I'm not. In fact, I am about to remove it do to zero takers. I should make all of about three dollars from forum advertizing this month--which is absurdly terrible. Larry
