direct cable connection

I have one older ( 233 MMX 128 Meg 72 pin EDO )computer with IDE Raid system ( 4X40Gig Raid 0)and second with video capture board and fast processors (2X 550 PIII). I need to connect those two units. Is network the only choice ?. I need minimum 10 Mb/sec. How about scsi to scsi connection (there are external scsi ports on both computers)? How about direct cable connection using fire wire? Would it work ?

The cheapest, best, and most practical solution is to network the computers. All you need are a couple of $20 (or less) network adapters, a crossover cable, Windows, and a little knowledge (provided herein). See http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/network/cable/cable1.htm for details on the cable, http://duxcw.com/digest/Howto/network/net2pc/intro.htm for how to network two computers, and http://duxcw.com/digest/guides/network/index.html for articles on how to share an Internet connection, which is another advantage of networking the computers, and our Networking and Internet Sharing Forum for free support.
